
What to Expect
Anika Specializes in Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is 1-on-1 therapy lasting 50 minutes, and can be done virtually or in-person. Each session is uniquely tailored to YOUR needs, done in a collaborative approach. Whether you are struggling with increased anxiety, grief and bereavement, depression, relationship struggles, personal identity issues, or just in need of someone to speak with or open up to, this is a perfect option for you.
Steps 1, 2, & 3
1. Consultation
Reach out via contact form to schedule a free 15 minute phone call consultation. Anika will ask you questions to better understand why you are seeking therapy, what your goals are, and you will learn how Anika can help you achieve them.
2. Intake Session
In the first session or two, your therapist will take your full history to learn more about your life growing up, childhood and adulthood. This, more structured session, is to assist in connecting the dots to best understand your past and present self. These sessions help guide and focus therapy.
3. Continued Care
After the history has been taken, you and your therapist will work collaboratively focusing on your goals for therapy. Anika will ask you what would be helpful to focus in on for that session, and if you have something in mind, you will work on that. If you do not, she will direct the session, pulling from the given history and concrete goals.

How does this all connect to YOU?
Therapy works best when both parties are open and honest with each other in order to foster a deep and meaningful therapeutic relationship. I find that people who have the best outcomes are the ones who are ready to dive deep, be vulnerable, and come with an open mind in the safe and nonjudgmental space provided.
This can be easier said than done and I understand that therapy can be scary — I mean, telling someone who you barely know all the in’s and out’s of your thoughts and feelings is a nerve-racking concept to say the LEAST.
With that being said, I want to make sure that you are at ease and comfortable in session, so in order to do that I take things at YOUR pace. I am collaborative and will work from where you are at to build trust and understanding in order to achieve YOUR unique goals.
